In recent years, high speed winding and taping equipment coupled with modern production techniques, have made power toroids economically viable allowing design engineers to capitalize on the advantages of a toroid design.

Low Weight
Typically 50% lighter than traditional EI laminated transformers.

Low Volume
More compact than traditional EI laminated transformers.

Flexibility
The dimensions of toroids may be varied to accommodate dimensional requirements such as low profile or slim line equipment.

Low Stray Magnetic Field
There are no air gaps in toroid cores and the windings are evenly distributed around the entire core. The resulting low magnetic radiation is ideal for applications in CRT displays and other sensitive equipment.

Low Noise
Toroidal construction ensures that mechanical "hum" will be minimal.

Efficiency
Power efficiency of toroids is typically well above 90%.

Mounting Hardware

The most common method of mounting toroidal transformers utilizes a mounting kit comprised of a metal washer and tow neoprene rubber washers.

The toroid is sandwiched between the rubber washers providing an economical and vibration dampened assembly.

The steel washer has a central depression which helps in centering the transformer and prevents the bolt head from protruding avove the face of the washer.

Electro zinc plating is standard.
